I started working with Steve at the beginning of 2014. Previously, I worked out on my own but I injured my arm and found my routine stagnating. Steve has been outstanding so far. Steve Botsford has been my personal trainer since July of 2006. At our initial meeting my goals were simple: to lose weight and look good in a size 8 pair of jeans. Steve has encouraged me to push myself far beyond what I dreamed possible, not just in weight training, but cardio training and healthy eating habits, as well. I am still working on my weight loss goal, but in just seven months, I can proudly say that my closet consists of size 8 pants! This is due to Steve’s positive approach; keeping me consistent with my plan; and his unwavering commitment to me as his client.
Many times I wanted to cancel a workout, or skip out on the cardio…not my favorite part, but Steve always seemed to push me with just the right amount of firmness that made me get it done. "Steve has been my trainer for years...close to 7-years if I am not mistaken, time flies.
One thing about him is that he is very consistent and works you hard! He keeps you engage, he changes your routine so that you will not get bored and your muscle will be worked good. He combines the strength training and aerobic in one work out. He pushes you but he also knows your strength, so you can't fool him by "faking" your exhaustion....= ) He listen to your need and goal and will tailor your work out accordingly. He is on time (hardly late to a session), has a good communication and work with your schedule the best he can.
I am a 51 years old, mother of 3. I am not overweight nor have been overweight, my weight is approx. 115. Even though I am not overweight, I know my metabolism is getting slower and will easily climb up if I am not watching it. I don't like to work out (sigh), but I know I have to. Having Steve as my trainer helps me to keep focus to my health and muscle strength. I train with him at least once a week and try to go the gym twice a week to follow his regimen. I credited my muscle toning to his workout routine. I told him that I love the look of my shoulder, especially when I brush my teeth!. Ask him about this... = )
In my personal experience, having a trainer is good for your motivation. You don't have to think what routine I should do or change, etc. Without Steve, I will not achieve the condition I have now."

After my training sessions, I often spend time on the gym’s treadmill. This gives me the opportunity to observe Steve work with other clients. I have been impressed with how he naturally gets along with a wide variety of individuals. He knows each one personally and treats them all with the same care, dedication and concern. This is a true gift that not many people possess! I am always amazed when he remembers to ask about my daughter’s soccer game or how a work project finished out. "Training with Steve has been both beneficial to my health and well being. I suffered the after effects of chemotherapy and the onset of diabetes. Having never worked with a trainer before, I had no expectations but Steve has exceeded my hopes, to offer consistent support, encouragement, patience and positive reinforcement. This process has taken much longer than I expected, meeting twice a week, but I haven’t pushed myself as much on off days as I could have nor have I followed a rigid meal plan as I eat fairly healthy. What I love about Steve’s workouts is that he changes it up and keeps in different and fun so I stay interested and motivated. My mother and I are overweight. And I'm what they call extremely obese. I connected with Steve to help us both start a plan that One: could accommodate my busy schedule, and Two: I could actually do at my size. I've found Steve to be a great support and motivating. He pushes me to do more, one more, one more, and one more than I would ever do by myself. He also treats us like family and genuinely cares about our health without chastising us for being in the struggle that we are in. We laugh during workouts which makes them easier to do and to show up for. It isn't till a few days later when I want to kill him, cause my thighs and arms are killing me! I guess this means he's helping us accomplish... A job Well Done!
